Adapted from the manga series by Yuki Kanamaru, More Than a Married Couple But Not Lovers is an anime TV series that features Jirou Yakuin and his childhood friend, Shiori Sakurazaka. They are paired together in the school’s couples training activity.
The plot is centered on the main male protagonist who has self-esteem issues and struggles to decide which lady he should pursue. He wants to pair up with his childhood friend, Shiori, but is afraid to do so because he fears she may like him as well.

Kazuya
Several anime fanatics criticize Kazuya for being overly impulsive. He doesn’t take responsibility for his mistakes. He overdoes things to help Chizuru. Ultimately, Kazuya has a victim complex. He thinks he’s not good enough for Chizuru.
The story of Kanojo, Okarishimasu focuses on Kazuya’s relationship with Chizuru. While Chizuru was initially focused on her career, she starts to realize that she isn’t the only person who finds love in her life. She has to make up her mind about her relationship with Kazuya.
The story takes a while to get to this point. It’s interesting that Kazuya’s perception of himself changes after he’s seen Chizuru and Ruka together. He sees Ruka as the person who can make his heart race. He doesn’t expect to have a long-term relationship with Ruka. He assumes she’s a rental girlfriend.
