Heartstopper actor Kit Connor has secured the lead role in the upcoming murder-mystery film “One of Us,” as reported by Deadline. Set to commence filming later this month in Northern Ireland, the movie boasts an ensemble cast featuring acclaimed actors such as Callum Woodhouse from “The Durrells,” Charlotte Hope of “Game of Thrones” fame, Siobhan Fallon-Hogan from “Forrest Gump,” and Ian Beattie known for his role in “Line of Duty.”

Written and directed by Stefan van de Graaff, “One of Us” is described as an allegorical tale unfolding during a funeral, where family members meet mysterious fates one after another, leaving Connor’s character, a young protagonist, to unravel the enigma of their demise.
Connor gained recognition for his standout portrayal of Nick Nelson in the popular Netflix series “Heartstopper,” which has been renewed for at least two additional seasons. The conclusion of filming for the second season, which wrapped late last year, was marked by a glimpse into the characters’ adventures in Paris, as depicted in a set picture released in October.
Beyond his professional achievements, Connor made headlines by publicly sharing his identity as bisexual, a decision prompted by months of online speculation. In light of his announcement, Olivia Colman, who portrays Nick’s mother Sarah in “Heartstopper,” expressed both pride in Connor’s courage and disappointment over the online harassment he endured.
Colman remarked, “I am so proud of him, but I am not proud of how people bullied him. I think people should be allowed to have their own journey. But I’m incredibly proud of him as a young man to deal with all of that and be in the spotlight. It’s unfair. But he’s amazing. He’s a very beautiful human being.”
